Doug worked with Earl Fawcett for three years in a previous organization and intermittently worked with Larry Lefaivre over the past 15 years. Earl and Larry have worked in numerous organizations together. Earl and Orest worked together at a previous company.

On the Board of Directors – Doug worked with Michael Laffin and Bob Dales for a number of years and with Nick Kirton over the past year. In addition Earl and Larry have worked with Bob Dales with a number of different entities for over a decade.

Douglas Penner, CA, CIA, CFA


DIRECTOR, PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

A senior executive, with more than 25 years of experience growing and directing public energy companies, with an emphasis on leading management, directors and stakeholders to maximize corporate opportunities and outcomes. Key strengths in building, financing, repairing/rebuilding, having sold numerous entities with complicated structures including high leverage bank debt, debentures and multi-agenda stakeholders. Exceptional public and capital markets experience based on extensive financial acumen, adaptive creativity, communication and problem solving skills. Demonstrated history of sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, with a high standards of integrity and the commitment to lead and empower staff.

Mr. Penner was promoted to president in May 2012 after serving as Arcan’s chief financial officer and vice president of finance from 2006 to 2012. Mr Penner also served as vice president finance and chief financial officer of Tempest Energy Corp., and controller of Tier One Energy Corp. Mr. Penner received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan and articled with Ernst & Young. In addition to a Chartered Accountant designation he completed designations as a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Internal Auditor. Mr. Penner is currently a director of a private Oil and Gas company Carrick Petroleum Inc. and on the non-profit board of the Canadian Sport Institute.

Darryl Mekechuk, P.ENG.


VICE-PRESIDENT ENGINEERING

Mr. Mekechuk has over 25 years of experience in exploitation engineering related to development, reservoir, production, operations, budgeting, capital management, facilities engineering and project execution. He has diverse petroleum experience is in Alberta, North Eastern B.C, Yemen, and Colombia with strong economic analysis skills combined with a solid reservoir management background. Prior to Candour, Mr. Mekechuk worked in a lead position on the development of Nexen Inc.’s Horn River shale gas assets, as a production engineer for Nexen’s and Calvalley Petroleum Ltd.’s conventional oil assets in Yemen focused in gas injection, water flooding, oil blending ESP changes and cement squeezes. Prior thereto, he was employed by Conocophilips Canada Ltd. working the Brazeau area on production uplift projects and prior to that was at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. in optimization as well as drilling support. Mr. Mekechuk attended the University of Alberta where he received his Bachelor of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering. An Engineer fluent in Spanish. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and a Professional Engineer Registered Member.

Orest V. Massitti


VICE-PRESIDENT ENGINEERING

Mr. Massitti has over 25 years experience working in various roles and sizes of organizations. Lately he was involved in design and implementation of Multi-Stage fracturing on horizontal, liquids rich gas and oil, resource play wells for a Private Exploration company. He reduced costs by 30 percent and completion time by 50 percent compared to offsetting producers. Other areas of specialization include property evaluations and acquisitions, production optimization, drilling, completions and workover design throughout the WCSB. Experiences include Gavia Resources Ltd., Nytis Exploration Company Inc., Vigilant Exploration Inc., Lightning Energy Ltd, Key West Energy Corporation, among others.

VICE-PRESIDENT EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Fawcett has over 30 years of experience and has held numerous roles as geological consultant and advisor. Primary duties involve prospect generation and full cycle exploration and development activities, detailed mapping, engineering support and economic analysis, as well as prospect and production acquisition evaluations. Most recently with Fletcher Petroleum Corp. and Dixie Energy Trust with assets in the Black Warrior Basin (Alabama and Mississippi). Mr. Fawcett was also a co-founder and geological consultant to a number of companies from 1987 to 2013 in Alberta including; Carrick Petroleum Inc.’s drilling program in the Stolberg area of the Alberta foothills, Culane Energy Corp.’s horizontal drilling in Killam, Tempest Energy Corp.’s Chipman property, and Tier One Energy Corp.’s Wildmere area all in east central Alberta. Historical experience includes Archer Resources, HCO Energy, Probe Exploration, Passport Petroleums and Knee Hill Energy.

Larry W. Lefaivre


VICE-PRESIDENT LAND

Mr. Lefaivre is a Professional Landman with 35+ years experience and has consulted for numerous companies in all aspects of the Land management, including acquisitions, negotiations, strategies and contracts for the past 15 years. Larry founded and was President and Chief Executive Officer of Talon Petroleums Ltd., (“Talon”). Talon completed its initial public offering in June 1997, was listed on the ASE and was sold effective August 31, 1999. Larry started his career at PanCanadian Petroleum Limited and has held a number of land management, consulting and executive positions at several petroleum and natural gas companies including Petro-Canada Inc., Luscar Ltd., Brenda Mines Ltd., Bankeno Resources Limited and Olympia Energy Ventures Ltd.
